The lady above is the hair salon owner who is defying Governor Abbott's order and her county and city. She says she can self regulate, but on her first day, it didn't go well. She also wants you to pay her fines and fees, not herself.
This is not what Dr. King did. He did not ask others to go to jail for him. He went to jail. She has a funding page. I'm not cool with that.
Also, she says she can self-regulate and that she'd enforce social distancing better than Walmart and would have everybody wear masks, unlike the big box stores. As you can see above from the news cameras that she was supportive of, she and her clients didn't consistently practice social distancing, nor mask wearing. WBAP Reporter Clayton Neville was there for 4-6 hours today. He says she was not checking everyone's temperature, as she said she would, too.
Also, Governor Abbott told my friend Chris Salcedo on his Newsmax show today that folks like this lady may lose their license and never be able to have a salon again. That's sad, considering she only needed to wait 6 more days.
She says she's opening again Saturday. We'll see what the officials do. Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation was called by all the news media that she seemed happy to accommodate today and Thursday. They asked if she'll lose her license. They say that depends on whether she gets a complaint. After all she's done and said to make herself well-known, she's definitely on their radar, and the Gov's..not to mention Clay J and the Mayor, EJ.
We'll see how this all plays out.
